BOOK WEEK - Find your Treasure!
We are pleased to announce that book week activities will be held in week 7 culminating in the character parade
on Monday morning of week 8 (3rd September). We've made an exciting change to our character parade
. After assembly in M block, students will parade from the quadrangle, along the main pathway that runs through the school. Parents, grandparents, and students from the Middle and Senior Schools will be able to have a close view as they line the pathway edge to see all the fabulous costumes our Junior School students have created. Once they reach the Tower, students will go to their classrooms to share about their book and costume, whilst parents and grandparents can come to the Library for a coffee and, most importantly, to view the amazing student displays.
The joy of older students reading shortlisted books from previous years to younger students will return with our reading buddies sessions during class time during Book Week.
Lunchtimes will be filled with great activities related to the shortlisted books: learn some sign language, pot a plant to take home, play the Great Rabbit Chase board game, create your own monster and be entertained by staff reading books they treasure.
Please check all the tabs in the Library webpage for all details. Book Week
and Character Parade
tabs include dress requirements and information about wearing the costume to and from school. These links are live and will be constantly updated with specific information, photographs and events. You may also wish to explore the rest of the Library website for great resources for your child or yourself.
There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates' loot on Treasure Island.
