Queensland All Schools Handball Championships

Monday 28 Oct 2019 by Mr Brent Arnold
Last weekend a group of Year 9 boys had the exciting opportunity to play in the Queensland All Schools Handball Championships.  This was an opportunity for all of the boys to play the Olympic sport in a formal tournament for the first time.

The team had a slow start to the tournament having two narrow losses to teams with more experience.  As the tournament went on, the boys grew in confidence and they managed to string together some fantastic wins. They managed to scrape into the final by a narrow margin on goals difference from the pool games, where they met Brisbane State High School. After a tense second half the boys managed to hold on for a 13-10 victory and were crowned champions of the Junior Boys Division.

Congratulations boys on taking the chance to challenge yourself in a new sport and on your overall success.  Redlands College is proud of your efforts.
