Last week Redlands College had 3 teams compete in the Queensland All Schools tournament at Whites Hill Reserve. We played against schools who were the reigning Australian and Queensland schools champions, and the Under 15 girls team even played against Tanglin Trust College who had traveled all the way from Singapore.
All 3 teams performed exceptionally well with each team coming away with victories in the pool rounds. The under 15 boys team had a difficult start to the tournament but showed great character storming home to an impressive victory in their final pool game. Some of the under 15 girls were playing in their first ever tournament and did exceptionally well remaining composed under pressure and surprising many of their opponents with their commitment and tenacity resulting in multiple victories.
The under 13 boys team set the foundation for a positive future for Redlands College Touch Football. They won multiple games and competed well against teams with much more experience, narrowly missing out on the finals rounds. Their results were great, but their effort and never give up attitude was what stood out, and the college should be very proud of them all. We look forward to their continued commitment to Touch Football and seeing their improvement at future tournaments.
Good luck to the Junior School teams in the Brisbane All Schools Championships coming up later in term 4.
