Operation Christmas Child

Thursday 18 Jul 2019 by Junior School

Junior School will be participating in Operation Christmas Child as part of our ‘Serving Hands’ focus in Term 3. This project, an initiative of Samaritan’s Purse, involves filling shoeboxes with gifts which will be sent overseas around Christmastime to children in need. It is not a requirement that each child or family entirely fills a shoebox, in recognition of our differing circumstances and that families also give to other causes. If you wish to take shoeboxes, they are in plentiful supply in M block or from Miss Kerridge. Take as many as you need! You may also use your own shoebox and decorate it, as long as the surface area of the lid is no bigger than A4 size.

You might like to fill shoeboxes, partially fill shoeboxes, donate a few goodies, or sponsor a box’s postage. Postage and delivery costs are $10 per box. It is not a requirement that if you fill a box, you also need to pay the postage costs, but if you are able to do so, that is appreciated. Perhaps a relative or friend of the family would be prepared to sponsor your box. Brochures with labels and more information on what and what not to include are inside each box, and if you would like more information, feel free to contact Miss Kerridge or browse the website at www.samaritanspurse.org.au
