Surveying and Geospatial Science

You might not know much about these career paths, but surveying and geospatial science are ideal for those who love subjects like geography, mathematics, IT, science, technology or visual arts. And there is huge demand for new entrants into these professions. Surveyors map our environment using maths and specialised technology. It’s the bedrock of town planning, construction and infrastructure projects. You can find videos, profiles, and projects of interest at the Try Surveying website.

Geospatial scientists take data based on a location, then uses creative ways to map that information simply and meaningfully. This spatial data can help us get from A to B with Google Maps, or it can predict future trends – for example, which roads might flood during heavy rainfall. You can find out more about geospatial science here.
