Student Achievements

We congratulate Cienna Farthing (Year 8) for her recent selection into the Queensland State team for girls Under 15 Rugby Union. At only 13 years of age, this is an outstanding achievement. Her training commitments are significant, now extending 4 days per week. Cienna will travel to Sydney in June for an interstate competition.

Cienna’s selection in the State team follows achievements with her Club, the Easts Rugby Union. In April, Cienna captained her Under 13 team to win the regional 10s a side competition. Cienna’s under 13 team were the first ever Easts girls team to take out this regional competition. Cienna has been an active member of her Club and, along with her coaches, has worked tirelessly to develop her Club team and more broadly, promote rugby union for girls. In addition to her Club duties, Cienna is also an active member of Brisbane Junior Rugby Union and is often called on to attend at camps and promotional events for girls rugby. Cienna has a genuine passion for her sport and thrives on engaging with other girls that are keen to explore the sport. Her drive to promote her sport within the broader community is admirable.
