Wednesday 17 Oct 2018 by Mrs Hegarty

On Sunday, September 9 four Year 6 Redlands College Japanese students competed in the MLTAQ Brisbane Primary Japanese Speaking Competition at Griffith University Nathan campus. Japanese teacher, Cathy Hegarty, was a Judge on the day and prepared the Judges for their important role. Thirty schools and just under 200 students participated in the Speaking Competition, 9 schools and 60 students more than last year!

Over 40 volunteers assisted including Mrs Kyoko Zbirka a parent of the College. Mrs Zbirka judged at last year’s inaugural MLTAQ Brisbane Primary Japanese Speaking Competition and again at this year’s inaugural MLTAQ Brisbane Secondary Japanese Speech Contest. I thank Mrs Zbirka for giving up her time on each occasion. She enjoys the experience and is looking forward to future Judging opportunities.

Cathy Hegarty is very proud of the Redlands College students who participated and is thrilled with their results. Every student who competed received an award! Outstanding results students. You should be very proud of your achievement.
