Qld Youth Shake Fest Regionals 2018

Wednesday 03 Oct 2018 by Senior School

Last week, a team of eleven Redlands College Senior students, accompanied by Miss Lucy Murphy, competed in the Shake Fest Regional Competition at Rochedale State High School.

Shake Fest, run by Shake & Stir Theatre Company, provides a unique opportunity for Arts students across QLD to focus their artistic abilities in an all-inclusive creative competition celebrating the works of William Shakespeare.

Our students entered in six out of the eight categories. In monologue, we had Chloe Makiol and Kiara White. In Duologue, we had Mitchell Wallis and Bella Duncan, as well as Paige Jewell and Kiara White. In the Scene category, we had Chloe Makiol, Emily Brett, Gareth de Beer and Lachlan Van Der Kreek in one team, and Mia Johnstone, Brendan Kater and Jenna Camilleri in another. In Music, we had Laura Eban as a solo entry and Chloe Makiol and Lachlan Van Der Kreek as  a duo. Jenna Camilleri also entered in the Photography and Design categories.

We await the announcement of the winners in a few weeks’ time. In the meantime, please join us in wishing the successful students the best for the State Finals at the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts in October!
