Friday 03 Nov 2017 by Anna Ferri

Students from Years 6 to 9 recently competed in the Australian Mathematics Competition.

This is one of the largest annual events on the Australian education calendar and, with its emphasis on problem solving, it encourages the development of a valuable mathematical life skill.

We congratulate our students for their excellent results.

Fletcher Hoffmann and Alexandra Finley (both in Year 8) were placed in the top 0.3% of their year group and received a prestigious Prize Award Certificate, gift voucher and AMC medal. They have also been invited to attend the Australian Mathematics Trust Awards Presentation evening in November.

Kaelan Crowther (Year 9) received a Certificate of High Distinction.

The following students received a Certificate of Distinction:

In Year 6:  Tian-Yi Kao, Yana Van der Merwe.

In Year 7:  Daniel Eban, Adam Fox, Bronte Prestedge, Elijah Weller.

In Year 8:  George Alexander, Felix Reji.

In Year 9:  Kate Macdonald, Paul Yen.

Tian-Yi Kao and Fletcher Hoffmann also received a Certificate for Best in School.

More than half of our competitors received a Certificate of High Distinction, Distinction or Credit.

Well done to all our students…we are very proud of you!
