Year 6 students learn how to make a difference

Friday 20 Oct 2017 by Year 6
Year 6 students have been investigating Australia's highly privileged position in the world, with access to quality education, health and employment opportunities. They are now beginning to examine the ways in which Australia interacts with the rest of the world, with a particular focus on the work of Non-Government Organisations (N.G.O.s).
This week they were inspired by a visit from a representative of the Thankyou organisation, as they were challenged to discover ways to make a difference in their world and to face and overcome obstacles that they come up against.
After hearing Kalvin speak, many have chosen to read the story of Thankyou entitled 'Chapter One' by borrowing it from the library.
