Senior Girls Examine Career Pathways in Sport

Wednesday 05 Jul 2017 by Amelia Khoo (Year 11)
Eleven Senior girls recently attended the Schoolgirls' Breakfast Career Experience Day at the Gold Coast Griffith University Campus. Former Olympic athlete, Liz Hepple and Firebird, Beryl Friday, spoke about their stories, experiences and careers in sport.

The girls participated in three workshops during the day, which developed their knowledge of the pathways and opportunities around careers in sport. Students were also exposed to the inequality with women's sport, as well as creating ideas for future events in sport.  They saw the range of technology being used to maximise elite athlete performances.

Overall, the day was a great success and students have been well informed.
