Regional Queensland Mission Trip

Wednesday 05 Jul 2017 by Rob Peterson

This Saturday Morning (24/6), twenty students from Years 8-11 and four staff are heading out to Outback Queensland, to experience the joy of serving God together on the College’s first Regional Queensland Mission Trip.

Our first day sees us heading out to Miles with Christian bus company ‘Steve Hosie's Original Tours’.  We will then spend the first night in Miles before heading off to Charleville.

In Charleville, we will be engaging and working with the Charleville COC Church in activities including being involved in a combined Presbyterian/COC kids holiday program, involvement in local community service, a visit to the Cosmos Centre, the Bilby Centre), a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and a visit to the School of Distant Ed.  We will be accommodated within the Charleville COC Church.

We leave Charleville Thursday morning to travel back to Miles, being accommodated in the local COC Church. Then two days painting the small church, helping out around the community and visiting some of the local attractions in Miles before heading home on the Sunday morning. While in Miles, the Certificate in Ministry students will lead the Friday Night Youth Groups and provide the music for the Sunday Worship Service at the COC Church.

The Redlands College Regional Outback mission trip will provide Redlands College students with a wonderful opportunity to minister to our outback neighbours by getting involved in the day to day hands-on workings of our outback families and giving back to the local communities. They will have a chance to not only see what God can do, but participate in being the hands and feet of Jesus.
