Position : Dean of Mathematics
Sort : 15

Joining Redlands College in 2006, I have taught Mathematics, primarily in the Senior School, also serving as a member of the Brisbane East District Panel, as Mathematics B Co-ordinator, and being involved with Gifted and Talented projects. I had previously taught at Somerville House and Ormiston College and used my teaching skills in a variety of other ways including tutoring, running extension mathematics classes and teaching Religious Education.

Teaching for learning has always been my passion, with a focus on teaching for understanding and enjoyment.  Problem solving is emphasised in my classroom, where I design resources which promote engagement in this.  Each student is a unique individual with many God-given gifts and I actively seek to extend each student as they journey along the mathematical pathway.

I am enthusiastic about the role of Dean of Mathematics.  Leading learning and the development of others is my focus in this role, along with a desire to encourage students to be active participants in the learning process and to further equip teachers in their classroom roles.
