Position : Dean of English
Sort : 16

Being passionate about valuing and empowering people, I work wholeheartedly to provide excellent, best practice teaching in English.  In my 13th year at Redlands College, I have stepped into the new role of Dean of English in 2018, having previously held the position of Senior School English Coordinator for 7 years.  My teaching experience is predominantly in English across middle and senior school.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (English, History/Ancient History)/ Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from University of Queensland and have undertaken a number of leadership courses through ISQ and SWL Education Consultancy.  I have also held a number QCAA roles, including QCST writing task marker, English Panellist – Brisbane East (current), English External Assessment Trial – exam writer and marker.

The key focus of my new role is to purposefully lead a community of learners in English, facilitating student learning, while leading and managing professional practice and improvement.  2018 involves a particular focus on curriculum preparation in Year 10 to 12 for the new senior system and building on strengths in Year 6 to 9, while developing greater continuity and consistency across all year levels.
