    Head of Senior School

Years 10 - 12. Senior School

Welcome to the Redlands College Senior School. Our extensive, dynamic programme for young men and women provides spiritual, physical, intellectual and social development in a supportive, non-denominational Christian environment with a strong tradition of academic excellence.

Each teacher at Redlands College is expected to be a practising and committed Christian who provides strong Christian leadership and example.
They are expected to have a strong work-ethic, strong professional standards and a focus on the needs of the young men and women with whom they work. Teachers are expected to see teaching as their calling and as service for Jesus Christ.
Students participate in the spiritual and service aspects of College life for their own spiritual growth and are encouraged to develop an appreciation of their responsibility for others by participating in charity and social responsibility activities.

All students participate in weekly sport and have opportunity to participate in competition with other local schools during scheduled school hours. Students are also encouraged to participate in local sports club competitions which are held outside school hours.

Our curriculum provides an extensive range of subjects and is well balanced between rigorous foundation learning and opportunities for each individual to explore and develop their unique gifts and talents. Programmes are continually reviewed and refined so that they reflect the best in educational practice as reflected in current research with the purpose being to achieve the best possible outcomes for each student. Individualised vocational pathways provide an alternative for students wishing to pursue studies leading to a trade or skill.  A broad and balanced programme is achieved with the provision of extensive co-curricular activities.

Enquiries about enrolment in the Redlands College Senior School should be directed to the Enrolments Officer on (07) 3286 0222. The Enrolments Officer can provide further details about the College, arrange opportunities for tours of the College facilities and advise on enrolment procedures.

WORSHIP & PASTORAL CARE
Pastoral care at Redlands College is a community-wide effort with a Christ-centred focus.
The philosophy is based on Biblical encouragement:  Getting alongside students in order to understand the need, and then seeking strategies together in order to better meet the need.

Every staff member has a passion greater than their specific area of responsibility, helping each student to grow in wisdom and stature, in favour with God and man.  This happens through staff in classrooms, spiritual life classes, year level assemblies and a myriad of co-curricular activities.

Wisdom and life skills are taught and experienced proactively through Religion and Ethics classes, and weekly chapel. Whole Senior school worship assemblies occur each term.

The College provides a behaviour management programme based on the Responsible Thinking Process.  This is a counter-cultural approach, which calls for each person to choose and be accountable for their choices.

The Chaplain and the Women's Well Being Coordinator offer support for students in personal, family, scholastic and relationship matters.  These support people have access to resources outside the College.

The goal of pastoral care is excellence in each life, empowered by faith in the truth of Jesus Christ.
