WORSHIP & PASTORAL CARE
" And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, in favour with God and man." (Luke 2:52)
The Junior School staff recognise the importance of the children’s spiritual growth, and the role that they play in supporting the family by teaching the children about God’s Word and its application to daily life.
Classes start the day with a 15-20 minute devotional, which may include Bible reading, prayer, singing and discussion and occasionally, be followed with worksheets or activities.
All subjects are taught from a Christian perspective. We recognise that faith cannot be contained in a “box for Sunday”, it is a commitment which affects every aspect of life.
Junior School children are also exposed to Christian teachings during assemblies each Monday morning as well as at Year level meetings where prayers are said, songs are sung and readings from the Bible occur.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, and when you lie down and when you get up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Parents are encouraged to discuss the classroom religious education programme with their child’s teacher at any time, so home and school can work together for the children’s spiritual development. |
