Recently our Year 7 boys volleyball team headed to Boondall to compete in the Interschool Sport Metro Finals.  Nerves were high, but the enthusiasm and team spirit were evident to all.  They won their first game in two sets which meant they had made the gold medal match to be held later that day. The boys showed great team spirit in the final but after a very hard fought first set and a close loss, they lost the match in two sets.

The boys came away with Silver medals and the knowledge that they had just become the 2nd best school team in Brisbane.  They look forward to carrying on the journey in future years.

Redlands College also recently competed in the inaugural Intermediate Schools Cup in Toowoomba. Two teams participated in this event - Under 16 Boys in Honours and Under 16 Girls Division 1.  After playing on the Friday, both Redlands College teams were undefeated and spirits were high for a great result and the possibility of a Gold medal finish. The next day, the girls played first with the boys cheering them on, but they were defeated in three sets by the eventual Gold medalists.

The girls finished the weekend only losing one game and finished in 5th position - a great result!

Sunday morning saw the boys ready to do battle to get into the Gold medal match. The game was tough and close, but Redlands College went down 3-1. The team then played for a Bronze medal which they needed to win in order to qualify for Melbourne AVSC to play in the Honours division.

The Redlands College boys won 3 - 1, becoming the Bronze medallists.

On Wednesday of the following week the boys travelled to Boondall to play in the Metro Finals for Year 10 Interschool Sport. The final was close with Redlands College winning the first two sets, then losing the third before finally winning the fourth set.

The Redlands College Year 10 Boys are Metro Champions of District sport in Great Brisbane!

Well done teams on a successful volleyball campaign.
